Supporting Exemplary Career Technical Education for Students
San Jose Tech High (SJTH) began in 1917 as a part of San Jose High. In its 100 year history, it has taught valuable career and trade skills to tens of thousands of students and made a reputation for itself and its graduates – many of whom have become noteworthy tradespeople, business owners and leaders of our community.San Jose Tech High has moved location and changed its name a few times in its 100 years. For a time it was known as San Jose Regional Vocational Center (SJRVC); then it became the Central County Occupational Center (CCOC), and now it is Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE). The San Jose Tech High Alumni Association was formed in 1981. The board meets four or five times a year to conduct its business. To date, we have donated over $31,800.00 to graduating students: A $100.00 Honors Award for demonstrating an exceptional degree of excellence and a $75.00 Achievement Award for demonstrating an unusual degree of progress toward career objectives. We raise funds from donations and fundraising at our annual dinner in March.
